As the COVID-19 pandemic continues into 2021, EGCP is very keen to continue to reach out to our coastal communities, and in particular to try to promote general wellbeing and mental health through our EGCP website, E-Newsletter, and social media. Although beach cleans are not possible at the present time with the lockdown, there are some nice online educational resources to make use of on the website to prepare you for when beach cleans start again. The Discover Maps project is now moving along very quickly and we welcome interest in what we are doing as well as information from anyone in the coastal community to contribute to the creation of these maps. We also have our quarterly E-Newsletter that contains lots of interesting and useful information, and we welcome your contributions to future issues. EGCP is also keen for you to submit photographs and news items.

At this time of year, with the shorter days and sometimes inclement weather that the Autumn, Winter and even Spring months bring with them, it is always good to think about getting out into the fresh air at the coast for some good exercise - as and when you can – and especially during the holidays.

For those of you who are able to get out and about, what better place to go than to the coast to take in the scenery, the landscape, and the air. As many of you are already aware there are also many nice coastal footpaths, walks and cycle paths along our coastline and we are always keen to hear about these and for you to provide us with feedback about your experience and their condition.

Interestingly, this year saw the start of the Decade of Health: https://www.decadeofhealth.co.uk/

Please feel to get in touch with EGCP and share your experiences during lockdown with others and to help contribute to the wellbeing of others in the coastal communities.

Making photo stories and learning about the coast (or anywhere else) by photographing the small detail! It is great fun and will make you see things in a very different way!
